As part of the Safer Routes to School programme of works Warwickshire County Council is to advertise a Traffic Regulation Order to reduce the existing speed limit (50mph) to a 40mph speed limit along the B4114 Coleshill Road in Ansley Common in order to facilitate making the school journey safer.

This proposal will provide a consistent speed limit for motorists and will help improve road safety and the environment for residents and all road users. The scheme will incorporate improved signing and road markings.

The proposal is identified in more detail on the attached plan SSZ300-721Please find attached the Public Notice formally advertising this proposal. The legal notice advertising the proposals will be on street from the 28th July 2016 for three weeks. The consultation period will run until 19th August 2016

1.1 Warwickshire County Council is proposing to reduce a section of the existing 60 mph speed limit along Knightcote Road and introduce a 30 mph speed limit. This will provide a buffer zone on the approach to the village.

1.2 As part of this proposal an amendment to the existing 30 mph speed limit along Knightcote Road, Poplar Close, Hambridge Road and Kimble Close is to be made.

1.3 Warwickshire County Council will be revoking the existing speed limit order for Knightcote and a new speed limit order will be made.

1.4 New speed limit with reduced vehicle speeds will help improve the environment for residents, pedestrians and cyclists.

Warwickshire County Council propose to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to revoke the Warwickshire County Council (Church Lane, Coppice Lane, Crowberry Lane and Vicarage Hill, Middleton) (Restricted Roads) Order 1992, impose a 30 mph speed limit on the lengths of road mentioned in the Schedule 1 and a 50 mph speed limit on the lengths of road mentioned in Schedule 2 below.

Safer Routes to School Programme 2016/17 The Common, Baddesley Ensor

As part of Warwickshire County Councils programme of works for 2016/17 Safer Routes to Schools, we are proposing a scheme to reduce vehicle speeds on The Common in Baddesely Ensor in order to facilitate making the school journey safer.

The scheme will aim to improve the environment for residents, motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.

The scheme will include the following measures:
• A 20mph speed limit on part of The Common.
• Two additional speed humps.

20mph speed limit: The Common, Maypole Lane and Oakwood Close

The proposed limit will be in addition to the existing 20mph limit which covers Baddesley Ensor village (Keys Hill estate)

The proposed 20mph will include Maypole Lane, Oakwood Close.
The scheme will involve the use of traffic signs, road markings and traffic calming features.

Traffic Calming

The proposed introduction of two additional speed humps on The Common, Baddesley Ensor will enhance the existing traffic calming measures and encourage slower speeds near the school.

A consultation event will be held at Woodside Church of England Primary School, School Hall on Thursday 9th June 3-7pm.
