C36 Welsh Road – Marston Doles: Casualty reduction scheme

The Welsh Road is approximately 5 miles long and runs from Southam to Priors Marston.
It is a rural route with a series of bends. There have been a high number of recorded personal injury collisions near the canal bridge at Marston Doles.

The road was assessed in order to reduce the number of speed-related personal injury collisions occurring at bends along the route and in the vicinity of the bridge.
The scheme consists of:

  • Yellow backed chevron signs
  • 2 x vehicle activated signs
  • Improved lining and SLOW markings repainted
